Our personal training, fitness and strength exercise programs have helped many improve their flexibility, balance and endurance to improve their sports performance. These programs can also help you get a faster metabolism, to lose weight and inches, to look and feel better.
 
Getting started we advise you to get a physical and log your starting point with a photo in your bathing suit. Also get a tape measure and measure your body from the neck down to the ankles.  Finally, you need to change your mind-set to know that it is time to take the bull by the horns and do what you absolutely must do, not what you want to do!
 
The next thing to do is take control of your eating habits in order to cut the excess calories. Make a note of what you are currently eating for at least three days in a row. Replace any high calorie, low nutrient food with a healthier, lower calorie food. You will probably be able to eat more and still lose inches.
 
Pay more attention to what you lose in inches instead of what you lose on the scale. PUT THE SCALE AWAY!  The scale will lead to frustration, confusion, sabotage and abandonment.  If you MUST weigh yourself, do it only once per week. Pick the same day, time and clothing is optional to weight yourself on the same scale.

Now you want to set up your workout to focus on a realistic starting point with planned progression to more intense aerobic, strength, body toning or muscle building workouts. Muscles dictate metabolism, so if you want the benefits of keeping your body fat levels low, you must kick it up a notch over time.  If you are not challenging yourself, your body will not respond.
 
To maintain your progress and to prevent plateaus you must keep your exercise program fresh by always making some changes.  You can also change the time of the day you do your exercise. The best time to burn the most fat is in the very early morning before a big breakfast.  At this time of the day your body will be more likely to use stored body fat as fuel for the exercises. Resist the temptation to stay on the treadmill for hours it will not help you to burn fat any faster.  It is the muscles you build along with the changes in your nutrition that will get you to a stronger, lean body.
 
Be sure not to set the bar too high at the start of your workouts.  You may burn out quickly or worse, you may injure yourself.  Always start at a level appropriate to your current fitness level, even if it is very low.  The goal is to build up slowly but you also do not want to baby yourself either.  Push yourself, but be sensible about it.
 
Part of reaching your goals is using food supplements wisely.  It is not always convenient for you to sit down to a meal.  Knowing how to use nutrition bars, shakes and vitamins could make a big difference to the success of your program.  One of the worse things to do when striving to preserve or build muscles to increase your metabolism is to skip meals.
 
Your body needs fuel to function and the brain’s preferred source of fuel is carbohydrates so make sure you do not lower these nutrients too low. If you do, you will not be a happy camper and it may only lead to a binge.
